Join Asian Girls Ignite for an immersive experience traveling to three AANHPI woman-owned food spots in Denver, where food, self-reflection, and open discussions come together.

Guided by AGI Staff, students will explore how beauty standards, social media, and friendships shape their self-perception.

3 Denver food spots (exact locations will be emailed after registration).
🚌Transportation:
A bus will be provided for all registrants, with pickup at a confirmed location (details will be shared after registration).
💜Who’s Invited:
AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth in grades 9-12.

What to expect:

  • Guided Conversations: Explore the topics of beauty standards, social media, and friendships through discussions led by Asian Girls Ignite Staff, who will also share their personal experiences.

  • Food & Connection: Travel to different 3 AANHPI woman-owned food spots around Denver, with each stop offering a chance to reflect on specific aspects of self-perception in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

  • Mini-Crafts: Engage in creative activities like writing a letter to your younger self, reinventing social media profiles, and making friendship bracelets to deepen your connection to the topics.

  • Supportive Space: Participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable—whether you want to speak up or simply listen and be present, you are welcome.

Key Topics and Activities:

  • Beauty Standards
    Explore how AANHPI-specific, fem-presenting beauty standards influence self-perception.

    • Reflect on how you fit into, reject, or reinvent these standards to boost self-confidence and develop a stronger sense of self, free from external pressures.

    • Activity: Write a Letter to Your Younger Self – Recognize past feelings around beauty standards and rewrite the narrative to be more empowering.

  • Social Media
    Discuss the impact of social media on self-worth and perceived “normalness.”

    • Consider how social media influences your self-perception and how it can also support healthy development.

    • Activity: Social Media Profile Reinvent – Partner up and take a Polaroid photo of each other. Write a present-moment affirmation about your partner, such as “Your smile makes others smile.”

  • Friend Groups
    Reflect on how friendships shape our values and self-perception.

    • Share stories about your friendships and explore what makes them meaningful.

    • Activity: Friendship Bracelets – Create a bracelet for someone who affirms your identity and self-worth.
