On March 12, 2025, Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) was honored at the Denver Nuggets game in Denver, Colorado, in celebration of Women’s History Month. With our incredible team representing AGI at halftime, this moment was a testament to the power of community, representation, and creating spaces where AANHPI youth feel seen and valued.

STEM Sparks at the Colorado School of Mines was an unforgettable day of discovery, hands-on fun, and community for Asian American youth! With the support of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), students explored STEM through interactive activities and connected with inspiring AANHPI professionals. From building play-doh inventions to learning from real-life STEM storytellers, this event was all about sparking curiosity, confidence, and new possibilities!

Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) students and Convivir Colorado came together for a magical day of ice skating, community building, and creativity at Evergreen Lake. From gliding across the ice to warming up with hot drinks and crafting, this event celebrated friendship, cultural connection, and the power of shared experiences for Asian American and BIPOC youth in Colorado.

Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) celebrated the Year of the Snake with middle and high school students in Colorado, bringing together the community for a day of reflection, fun, and tradition. The event featured a lively lion dance, creative crafts, and activities that encouraged connection and personal growth. Students participated in a mega-handshake challenge, enjoyed cultural games, and reflected on their goals for the year ahead.

This past Sunday, we embarked into the new year with a cozy open house, where 6th graders and their families explored Asian Girls Ignite’s (AGI) programming, joined engaging discussions and activities, and enjoyed a delicious meal together.

Colorado Asian Pacific United (CAPU) has been on a mission to restore and revitalize Denver’s Chinatown– and they invited Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) students to join them in accomplishing this important project through a mix of art, storytelling, and poetry.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the holiday season with our community members during our Season’s Savory Greetings event, where we enjoyed Hmong food and cultural performances while connecting with one another over fun youth-led activities.

November is Adoptee Awareness Month, honoring the journeys of AANHPI adoptees. Discover strategies to support their identities and how Asian Girls Ignite empowers youth through connection, mentorship, and storytelling.

AANHPI middle school girls in Denver joined Asian Girls Ignite’s Coding in Bloom workshop, blending Hawaiian culture and coding to create personalized lei poʻo. Led by Zyola Moanaliʻa Mix, the event celebrated joy, identity, and self-determination. Participants connected through storytelling, creativity, and a shared Hawaiian feast. The day showcased the power of merging tradition with innovation.

Asian Girls Ignite students explored self-perception through beauty standards, social media, and friendships on a Denver food adventure, visiting AANHPI woman-owned spots like Banh and Butter, Tea Street, and Yuan Wonton. Discover the reflections and connections from this inspiring day!

In October, AGI hosted a Diwali Celebration for students to learn about the traditions of the holiday and to be in community with one another.

Many of us grow up hearing myths and stories from our cultures. Whether they inspire or puzzle us, they can sometimes cause us to feel misunderstood in predominantly white spaces.  

Our two YLC members Eleanor and Naiya shared what they love about AGI and how they plan to give back on Conviviendo podcast, a project supported by Convivir Colorado.

Recently, AGI hosted an “intro to sushmaking” workshop for middle school students facilitated by Executive Chef Mary Nguyen of Olive & Finch.
