Event Diaries: STEM SPARKS
STEM Sparks at the Colorado School of Mines was an unforgettable day of discovery, hands-on fun, and community for Asian American youth! With the support of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), students explored STEM through interactive activities and connected with inspiring AANHPI professionals. From building play-doh inventions to learning from real-life STEM storytellers, this event was all about sparking curiosity, confidence, and new possibilities!

Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) celebrated the Year of the Snake with middle and high school students in Colorado, bringing together the community for a day of reflection, fun, and tradition. The event featured a lively lion dance, creative crafts, and activities that encouraged connection and personal growth. Students participated in a mega-handshake challenge, enjoyed cultural games, and reflected on their goals for the year ahead.

AANHPI middle school girls in Denver joined Asian Girls Ignite’s Coding in Bloom workshop, blending Hawaiian culture and coding to create personalized lei poʻo. Led by Zyola Moanaliʻa Mix, the event celebrated joy, identity, and self-determination. Participants connected through storytelling, creativity, and a shared Hawaiian feast. The day showcased the power of merging tradition with innovation.
